 It is confirmed! Got a mailer from Singtel and 22nd August 2008 is the big day the 3G iPhone lands in Singapore.

These are my most essential iPhone apps.  Other reviews may follow.

Where is a decent RSS Reader?

I've tried just about all of the native RSS Readers currently available for the iPhone and they all are very lame: NetNewsWire (free, syncs with News Gator), azRSS, iRSS, Feeds, and Bylines.  None of them do all the main things I would want: import/export OPML files, save starred items for offline reading, handle offline reading selectively, have easy ways to mark all as read.

Apple got bitch slapped a rude awakening when a blog posting went up from T-Mobile Netherlands blaming Apple for the reception issues with the iPhone 3G:

"The 3G coverage of T-Mobile is as good as the competition, there can therefore not lie. We suspect that it is a hardware / software specific issue of the iPhone itself,"

Die mit großem Abstand teuerste Software stammt von einem deutschen Einfallspinsel. Das Programm mit dem Namen „I Am Rich“ kostet im App Store stolze 800 Dollar. Nach dem Download dieser Anwendung erscheint im Iphone Display der Sinnspruch „I am rich / I deserv it / I am good / healthy & successful“ - man beachte die hervorragenden Englischkenntnisse, beim Wort „deserv“ fehlt das „e“ am Ende.

Otra prueba más y esta vez, y sin que sirva de precedente, me deja buen sabor de boca. Se trata de WordPress para iPhone/iPod touch y es otra de las herramientas disponibles para publicar contenidos en un weblog surgidas con la actualización del software de los dispositivos.

Con está aplicación podrás gestionar un weblog creado con este gestor de contenidos de forma que podrás asignar y gestionar tanto categorías como etiquetas, incluir múltiples imágenes (al final de la entrada) e incluso modificar la fecha de publicación y todo ello trabajando en local hasta que estés conforme con la entrada.

Completely non-intuitive way to set up MobileMe syncing

For a function as basic as syncing your contacts and calendars via MobileMe, its shocking that doing this is so non-intuitive.  You have add your MobileMe account to Settings -> "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" even if you do not want to sync your MobileMe/.Mac mail account itself. That is where the Contacts, Calendars, and Bookmarks on/off settings are along with the mail on/off settings.
