Twitterrific and iPhone
My iPhone 8G has frozen while loading Twitterrific. I've connected it to my computer and it still is frozen over an hour later. and I just bought some songs last night and i haven't transferred purchases. well I'll keep you posted and hopefully Apple can do something about it.
Gadget Boy
I have to admit that I am a Gadget freak. The latest Mobile Phone, PDA, or electronic doo-dah always gets my undivided attention (for a while at least). I have in my time, owned and used most gadgets on the market, most recently the iPhone at the Carphone Warehouse held my attention for about 30 minutes until I saw the price. £350,and that did not include the 18-month contract that you had to purchase. Pretty Phone no doubt, but does not do much more than what I am using now, and less of some things!!
Apple Sells $30M Worth of Apps, Confirms Kill Switch for iPhone Apps
Steve Jobs announced that Apple's App Store is doing very well indeed, making up some 60 million downloads from the site since launch. They also confirmed the kill switch after a engineer discovered the piece of code in his iphone "Mr. Jobs confirmed such a capability exists, but argued that Apple needs it in case it inadvertently allows a malicious program -- one that stole users' personal data, for example -- to be distributed to iPhones through the App Store."
iphone 3G dropped calls ... temp fix to help, not a full fix
I'm getting sick of this and so are others.
Basically, the phone has been working well enough, but when I'm in an area of weak reception, like where I live, I seem to drop calls. With 3G on, I drop them even more. So the fix?
Turn off 3G. Keep it off unless you need it. I'm not sure if its the ATT network or the phone, but I have notice better performance all around with 3G off. I've also found the battery will last much longer if you get into the habit of only using 3G when you need it. Keep in mind, this is still a phone! and it needs to work as a phone before anything else.
the 12 worst iPhone case designs
Man bag. I needz it.
Aw, come on. Wallet contents, phone, keys, reading glasses, blah, blah, blah. Sometimes a man needs something besides every available pocket to stash stuff when going out and about.
So I've ordered one. Yes, yes, earth-shattering news. Mostly just to hold the phone, but with perks. (No, no, you loon, I didn't order the one you see below. Please.)
Via Gizmodo, I came across a righteous site, chronicling the most heinous, obviously non-gay-approved designs for iPhone cases.
Phone Fuckery
Seeing as my N95 isn't long for this world, what with the iPhone on the horizon, I thought I may as well update the firmware for the phone. No worries if it all went tits up, as I'll be getting a new phone soon enough.
Nokia actually released the firmware for the N95 8GB earlier this year, enabling certain features and making things generally speedier. Thing is, the phone companies then like to get their hands on the firmware updates, chopping and changing certain things and stamping their logo all over the place. The Vodafone version of this new update only came out recently, so I thought i'd take the plunge.
#8- iPhone 2.0.1
Wow, I cant't believe i let iPhone firmware 2.0.1 pass me for a week. I am now installing the firmware and going to give an update on what i think of it. This update is supposed to fix, app crashing, keyboard lag and other numerous bugs from iphone firmware 2.0.0. Stay tuned.
Update#1 : currently waiting on the lengthy, and annoying process of "backing up iPhone" :X
