Hoppas expediten hade koll!
While You Were Out
So, my brother and sister (in-law...they're married) have been out of the country since January. Just in case you come back to America and feel a little confused, I'd like to prep you for changes that have occurred in our country over the past few months:
A black man is the Democratic Party's nominee for president. Barack Obama. Not David Palmer.
The greatest golfer in the world, Tiger Woods, won the U.S. Open with a broken leg, then promptly decided to take the rest of the year off. He said it was for surgery, but we all know it's to let the rest of the world catch up a bit.
Dad, a couple years after getting a substantial promotion, decided to get cancer just to prove that he could beat it.
SiPhone y Riphone
BlackBerry sales to fall at AT&T?
![]()
According to an investment note from Credit Suisse's Kulbinder Garcha, RIM's sales of BlackBerry smartphones at AT&T peaked in June and are likely to drop as AT&T focuses on promoting the iPhone.
Garcha believes that the decrease in sales could be substantial enough that RIM would loose influence and sales at AT&T which is where RIM does around 25 to 30 percent of its sales.
Connecting the Ecosystem: Interview with RelayHealth
Couple of weeks back Microsoft’s HealthVault announced a strategic partnership with McKesson’ RelayHealth for which I wrote a short post. Following up on the announcement, I recently had the opportunity to speak with RelayHealth’s General Manager, Ken Tarkoff, who provided further background on this partnership.
Key Points from Interview:
Mad Men box set
The Mad Men season 1 box set is shaped like a retro metal cigarette lighter. Interesting.... apparently, a nod to the series' use of cigarettes and smoking to create a certain ambience.
Travelling with my trusty iPhone
Over the last few years I have become utterly reliant on the internet. I now rarely buy newspapers and read almost all my news online. I subscribe to a number of RSS feeds and blogs. All my banking is done online. I work with email every day. And of course, Twitter (which has become a bit of an addiction).
We have recently returned from a holiday visiting my husband’s family in Wales. Clearly I was going to need my regular online access to avoid withdrawal symptoms. My in-laws don’t have wi-fi and I didn’t fancy having to plug in the MacBook everytime I just wanted to check Twitter. Luckily I have an iPhone and what with the 2.0 software update a few days before we left, I was all set.
My iPhone apps today
One of the groundbreaking differences between the iPhone and all other cellular phones is the App Store. You can bet that RIM, Nokia, et al are hard at work on a similar system.
Here's the app's I've got loaded today:
iPod Touch of iPhone?
